Events are an important aspect of successful community engagement projects. Civio Engage has a dedicated section to create and manage events for your project.

To create an event for your project
-----------------------------------

1. In the left-hand menu bar, click **Projects**. This displays a list of all existing projects.
2. Click on a **Title** to open a project.
3. In the project sub-menu under **Content**, click **Events**. This shows all the events for this project.
4. To create an event, click on the **+** icon located on the right hand side of the screen.
5. Add an event **Title.**
6. Add a **Summary** of your event.
7. In the **Body** use the Rich Content editor to add rich text. Click **Add block** to add other kinds of content such as Updates, Polls, Hotspots, Forms or Documents. For more information about the text editor, see [How to use the Rich Content editor](/articles/9180044670223-How-to-use-the-Rich-Content-editor). For more information about content blocks see [How to use content blocks and groups](/articles/9179124696591-How-to-use-content-blocks-and-groups).
8. Select an event image in the **Add a primary image** box (this is optional).
9. Optionally, set a maximum number of registrations (**Max no of registrations**) for the event.
10. **Allow RSVP** - Use this checkbox to control whether users can register for your event online.

    - When **enabled** (default): Users can RSVP online, and you can set maximum attendee limits
    - When **disabled**: The RSVP button is hidden from users, promoting walk-ins instead. The "Max no of registrations" field and "Registrations" tab will not be displayed.
11. Set a **Start Date** and **End Date** for the event by typing the dates into the fields, or click the **calendar icon** and pick a date from the calendar.
12. Add a **Location name**, and enter the **Location coordinates**. *Note: Location coordinates can be found via Google Maps. Go to the location on Google Maps, right-click the place or area on the map. This will open a pop-up window. You can find your latitude and longitude in decimal format. Enter this into the Location coordinates field.*
13. Once you've finished editing, click **Publish**.

Where on your site are events displayed?
----------------------------------------

Creating and publishing an event will automatically trigger the creation of an 'Events' tab in the public project menu.
